Cheryl Y. Howard MA, MTS., BCPC., was recently ordained under Pastor under Apostle Stephen Amacker of Cathedral of Deliverance By Faith in NY/FL to begin this independent ministry “Healing For Your Soul Ministries.” She is also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor through BCPPC (Board of Christian Professional & Pastoral Counselors). She has a Masters in Theological Studies, a Masters in Human Services-Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary & Liberty University-VA, and two years of graduate Clinical Social Work education from Fordham University School of Social Services-NY. Previously she wrote for the online journal Examiner.com as a NY Christian writer and now as a Richmond (VA) Natural Beauty Examiner-as a Licensed Cosmetologist/Natural Product Formulator/Natural Hair Care Stylist. Currently she writes as a contributing writer for Huffington Post and Thrive Global. She was an assistant director and supervisor of an after school program-NY, an Abstinence Educator, and Mentoring Coordinator-NY.
Cheryl serves online as a Pastoral Counselor/Minister of Healing for Your Soul Ministries and provides Life Coaching at “Get Your Life Back Inspirational Coaching”. Before moving to VA, Cheryl was first licensed as a minister at The Greater Allen AME Cathedral Church of NY under the shepherding (Pastors) of Dr’s Floyd and Elaine Flake in 2008-2012. She also served as an Associate Pastor at an outreach ministry- Jesus is Justice Mission Church-NY under the wonderful leaders, Bishop Harlan Bryant and Pastor Cynthia Bryant, where she was being prepared for pastoral ministry. Pastor Cheryl is mentored by Apostle Amacker (covering) whom she grew up in church with at New Covenant C.O.G.I.C Inc. (her home church) in Brooklyn, NY. Currently she works in the field as a (QMHP) Intensive In-home Counselor for children and their families-providing intensive therapeutic interventions for children/teens with trauma and behavioral/emotional dysregulation issues, and promotes-pro-social/positive behavior & effective communication skills-while improving familial relationships (biological/adoptive/foster). In 2010, Cheryl established the ‘Goddaughters Workshop LLC‘ a female teen empowerment program that will resume in VA.
